Confirm your IEC every year to keep it active.
Although the Import Export Code is valid for a lifetime, the DGFT now requires every IEC holder to electronically update and confirm their code once every financial year, between April and June. This annual update must be completed even if none of your business details have changed. If you fail to confirm your IEC within the window, it is deactivated and your import, export and foreign-remittance transactions can be blocked until it is reactivated. We handle the annual IEC update and, where a code has already been deactivated, its reactivation — so your international trade continues smoothly and your code always remains in active status.
All IEC holders — the annual update is mandatory even with no changes.
Timelines and government fees are indicative and subject to processing by the relevant authority. Approval and its timing are decided by the authority and cannot be guaranteed.
No, but it must be updated/confirmed every year (April–June) to stay active.
The IEC is deactivated and can block your trade transactions until reactivated.
Yes. We can reactivate it by completing the pending update on the DGFT portal.
