A Limited Liability Partnership can change its name for rebranding or to resolve a conflict with an existing name or trademark. The process requires the consent of all partners, reservation of the new name through the RUN-LLP facility, and filing of the relevant forms with the MCA, followed by an amendment to the LLP Agreement to reflect the new name. Once the Registrar approves the change, a fresh certificate is issued. As with companies, the LLPIN and legal identity remain unchanged; only the name is updated, and the LLP must then update its PAN, GST, bank accounts and stationery accordingly.
