Trust Registration

A simple, time-tested structure for charitable work.

About Trust Registration

A Trust is one of the oldest and simplest structures for carrying out charitable or religious activities in India. A public charitable trust is created when a settlor transfers property or funds to trustees, who hold and manage it for the benefit of the public under a trust deed. In Tamil Nadu, the trust deed is executed on stamp paper and registered with the local Sub-Registrar. Trusts are widely used for running charitable institutions, temples, educational and medical initiatives. With a well-drafted deed, a trust can go on to obtain 12A and 80G registrations, making donations tax-efficient for both the trust and its donors.
